In my last article I talked about us becoming the best version of ourselves- personal holiness. Notice that I did not say perfect holiness, small steps are good, even when we fail we learn something, God’s grace is enough, get back up and keep trying.
How do we know God’s grace is enough? This is where we need to have a personal relationship with Jesus. We need to know that it was and is his love that saved us. Of course in order to have relationships with each other we need to spend time with each other. So we need to spend time with Jesus, getting to know him, talking with him and listening when he answers. He will answer, it may not necessarily be the answer we want, but he will answer.
If you are having a hard time hearing him try spending some one on one time with Jesus, or as Father Riccardo said in a recent parish mission “wasting time with Jesus” at adoration. We know that Christ is present in the Eucharist and being with him in adoration is to bask in his love. You can pray with him any way you know how, or you can just sit in his presence, you could even get to know him better by reading the four gospels: Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. Spend an hour, a half hour, or even 10 minutes with him.
We hold adoration at St. Priscilla’s every Monday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM in the chapel. I promise that if you spend time in adoration as much as you can, he will not disappoint you!
God’s Peace, Dave
