During the Christmas season we celebrate Emmanuel, God is with us! During this Christmas season, let us enjoy time with our loved ones and give thanks to God for the blessings He has bestowed upon us. Let us especially remember that God is always with us. Not only is He with us in Spirit; He is also fully present in the sacraments. This is especially true of the Eucharist, which we celebrate and receive at every Mass. All are invited to join us at this celebration!
-Merry Christmas from Fr. Joe and the St. Priscilla Staff
“May your soul, like a mystical bee, never abandon the little King and may everything within it be for Him. Amen.” -Prayer from St. Francis de Sales
Our Financial Report indicates that we are fiscally sound and capable of weathering a pandemic. That is great news, but there is something even better than the numbers next to the dollar signs. Last year marked St. Priscilla’s 60th year of pouring its generosity into the community. We provided the source and the summit of our faith for 52 weeks at Mass. Twenty five youth received a sacrament of initiation. We fed and provided utility assistance to dozens of households in need through our pantry and St. Vincent de Paul Society. St. Joseph was added to our Sanctuary and the path to our sacred space was leveled. We supported the Archdiocesan wide ministries and the Seminary especially through our successful CSA campaign with over 130 donations. Our in person Faith Formation program had increased participation especially in our wildly popular STEM Vacation Bible School with more than 40 participants. Almost as many showed up for the December Family Activity night. Faith Formation has now shifted to a new model which includes the formation of parents! In 2022, we hosted our first ever 5K Run/1.5K Walk which raised money for the parish and surrounding community. Our Box of Joy program continues to expand each year with the support of St. Priscilla parishioners and parishes near and far. In 2021, St. Priscilla filled 164 boxes and with the support of other parishes, we provided Christmas for a total of 309 children. Each year, our Christian Service program has expanded their glass craft night which supports not only St. Priscilla but also victims of human trafficking. Knights of Columbus, Prayerful Creations, Bible Study, and Christian Service all came back to post pandemic activities supporting our community. And we can certainly brag about pouring out generosity; this community is responsible for adding more than 124 pints of blood to area hospitals.
Please continue to support and promote our community. Follow us on Facebook, sign up for E-giving and invite a family to join us at the next event. Year sixty one is here and with your continued support we can continue to take pride in the St. Priscilla Faith Community.
