The Archdiocese of Detroit Safe Environments Policy specifies teen employees and volunteers who work with children, must attend safe environments training and adhere to the Promise To Serve: Teen Code of Conduct.
The Archdiocese of Detroit has in place Safe Environments Initiatives to promote creation and maintenance of safe environments for children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. We strive to increase awareness of safe programs and surroundings and to empower children,
youth, and adults to avoid and report unsafe or harmful situations.
Called to Serve™ is an exciting, interactive, skill-building workshop for teens designed to enhance skills for employment and/or volunteer ministry.
Called to Served™ is taught in our Catholic high schools and parishes. Attendance is required for teens grades 9-12 who are church/school employees or whose volunteer service includes children. Other teens in grades 9-12 are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Called to Serve™ program will also be used in Catholic high schools (grade 10), as part of required safe environments program.
