Why Parent Life?
Parent Life was born out of the truth that parents are the primary witnesses for their children. God has given them a special grace to pass on the Catholic faith to their children that He has not given to anyone else, including catechists and Core members. Parents truly are the ultimate and first evangelist for their children. They need opportunties to grow in their faith just as much, or even more, than the youth do!
What is Parent Life like?
Parent Life gatherings break open topics relevant to Christian parenting and our Catholic faith, provide an environment where parents can build community with one another, and offer opportunities for parents to enter into the same prayer and faith experiences that their children are entering into in the faith formation classes and Life/Edge Nights. Essentially, parents and children are on parallel faith tracks; the family is growing in faith together as a united team! Talk about spiritual synergy!
What Are Other Saint Priscilla Parents Saying About Parent Life?
I felt it was a truly wonderful way to spend my time and I learned SO much -
even as an adult Catholic. Can't wait for next time!
Just what I needed!...what a great way to be reminded how important my faith is...
for me and my family. Thank you!
When is Parent Life Offered?
Parent Life is conveniently offered during the time the children are in their faith formation classes on Monday and Wednesday, and also when the teens are attending the Life and Edge Nights on Thursdays. Parents can drop off their children and teens to their respective sessions, and then head right over to Parent Life. Or, simply come when you can. What a great message that would send to the kids!
Why Should I Participate in Parent Life?
Your children need you. As parents, the greatest gift that we can give to our kids is the gift of a vibrant, living faith that will see them through all the circumstances of their lives. However, we can't give our children what we don't have. In order to pass on the faith, we must be invested in nuturing and deepening our own.
Your Saint Priscilla parish family needs you. Parents face many challenges in raising children in today's modern culture. Parents seeking to raise their children with a strong Catholic identity and faith are up against an even greater challenge. BUT, there is strength in numbers. When Catholic parents are able to build community with other Catholic parents, they have a place where they can receive guidance, energy, and encouragement.
