Period of Inquiry
Our One Eight
program is structured to follow the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). This format provides opportunities for the Sacrament of Confirmation to participate in several rituals modeled after those that occur during RCIA. These rituals and prayer experiences are meant to foster a deeper sense of belonging the Catholic Church.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the earth."
- Acts 1:8
One Eight is divided into three phases of preparation, each with distinct features, themes and rituals that are modeled after the RCIA process. To learn more about each of these phases, click on the text links below.

PHASE 1: PERIOD OF INQUIRY - OVERVIEW
This period of time could also be considered your "pre-Confirmation preparation" period. It is during this time that teens and parents will be asking questions about One Eight program and requirements for the Sacrament of Confirmation and attending a parent and teen meeting.
The main focus of this time period is to get parents, teens and sponsors information about One Eight, the Sacrament of Confirmation and our Pastor's expectations for sacramental preparation.
There are two sessions that accompany this period:
Generation to Generation is for parents and teens and
Support System is for teens and their sponsors.
After the teen and sponsor session, teens will formally be considered "candidates." The sponsor session closes with a prayer service modeled after the RCIA Rite of Acceptance and is an important ritual to utilize for teenagers as they begin the next step in their journey toward the sacrament.
Please pray for our Confirmandi, their parents and sponsors, and the Confirmation Core Team as together we walk into a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
