I'm excited about the EDGE because it sounds like a lot of fun. I think it will be so much better when it's once a week and not only twice a month, because now when you get into a good detailed conversation, you won't have to stop and wait another month to continue it.
I think it would be also cool to have "themed" nights where you do a different activities and then see how the teens think they found God and Jesus in those activities. For example, you could do a Hawaiian night and then talk about things like, if it was your first time surfing, how maybe God gave you confidence to not be scared and try it.
I could kind of be fun to also make a commercial about the EDGE with some of the kids from the group on a different night. I think it would be funny too, if we made up an EDGE theme song, something like: "Let's all go to the EDGE, let's all go to the EDGE, let's all go to the EDGE and see where we can find God!"
It would also be great to do a class on prayer because I think most kids ignore praying. Another class I think would be cool is Eucharistic Adoration because I loved the G.I.F.T. session on it.
I'm really excited about the EDGE, and I hope that these ideas help you plan the EDGE from an 8th Graders point of view.

Editor's Note: Our thanks to one of our incoming 8th Graders for writing this great letter. We are always thrilled to have "ideas that help us plan the EDGE" from our 6th, 7th and 8th grade youth.
Many of the suggestions (i.e., themed nights, video, music, prayer, Eucharistic Adoration) are already in the mix for the coming year. At the EDGE, we provide a Radical - Relevant - Relational experience where everyone is actively involved.
