GROWING IN FAITH TOGETHER
What is Growing In Faith Together (G.I.F.T.)?
Growing In Faith Together (often referred to as G.I.F.T.) is an inter-generational faith formation event in which Saint Priscilla parishioners and their guests - young and old alike - come together to share their Catholic heritage and knowledge and learn from a common experience.
Is there a topic?
Absolutely! The theme of our March 18 and March 20, 2011 G.I.F.T. event is "St. Priscilla and the Early Christians." Join us for a wonderful time filled with food, community, fun, laughter, prayer, culture, relationship, spirituality, and much more! To register online, click here.
Past topics have included:
"Fr. Theo's Secret Fire" helped us all get to know our new pastor, Fr. Theo D'Cunha much better. Playing the Father Knows Best game show, listening to our guest speaker share about Fr. Theo's religious order - the Pallottines, and learning of Fr. Theo's vision for St. Priscilla: “To do everything for the greater glory of God; to make every Catholic a good Catholic and every good Catholic an Apostle.”
"The Miracle Hour" demonstrated how one hour can truly change everything through prayers of praise, song, surrender, repentance, forgiveness, scripture reflection, intercessions, petitions, and thanksgiving.
"Thirst for Change" a global project to increase awareness and funding to drill clean water wells in Ghana, Africa. St. Priscilla raised over $800 in loose change and joined 164 other Life Teen / EDGE parishes around the world raising over $150,000, enough to drill 12-15 wells.
"An Evening of A-PRIEST-IATION" promoted vocations to the priesthood and religious life with personal commitment cards offered to pray for our priests, religious, and seminarians.
"Operation Arise" focused on how we, as Catholics, are called to fulfill our mission of bringing others to closer to Jesus.
"The Pursuit of Happiness" illustrated how the human heart is on a quest for happiness. While we as individuals we are all so unique and so different, we are bound together by our common yearning for happiness found in community with one another in the love of Christ.
Is there a meal?
"Meet Jesus in the Movies" used popular and familiar film clips to illustrate Christian themes of faith, sacrifice, hope, and love.
You'd better believe it! We know that one of the best ways to come together as a community - and get to know each other better - is while breaking bread and sharing a meal. Our G.I.F.T. Kitchen Crew in a huge part of our Hospitality Team.
